The Disturbing Discovery on Gondal-Rajkot Highway
Tragic Death of Rajkumar Jat in Gondal: Rajkumar Jat lay naked on the Gondal-Rajkot highway, a sight of overwhelming anxiety. A Good Samaritan who provided clothes to the young man has been identified, and his testimony has been recorded by the police. Investigations undertaken by the police had not so far revealed unusual happenings, but following the allegations by the family of Rajkumar, the case has taken a serious turn.
The police are now striving to retrieve CCTV footage recorded around the Rajkot to Chotila stretch so that various pieces of information leading to Rajkumar’s untimely death may be put together. It was felt that there had been quite some interference in the case with the new forensic report, leaving even more loopholes behind.
Family’s Allegations: A Cry For Justice
This disturbing claim comes from Rajkumar’s father, Ratanlal Shankarlal Jat, who lives at Gayatrinagar in Gondal. He states that some six men accosted him and his son on March 2, close to the bungalow of Jayarajsinh Jadeja, a former MLA. According to Ratanlal, Ganesh Jadeja, the son of the former MLA, along with 7-10 others assaulted them with no provocation whatsoever.
Despite the incident, they returned home. But Rajkumar went back that same night, feeling aggrieved at the unprovoked beating he received, to write an FIR against the former MLA. Tragically, he disappeared mysteriously after that.
Police Investigation: A Case Full of Twists
The Gondal police had been informed almost at once of Rajkumar’s disappearance. A formal complaint was placed before the Rajkot SP, leading to an inquiry. In an eerie coincidence, the case took a dark turn when some presumed evidence showed that to the police, Rajkumar closely matched the description of an unidentified youth who met his demise in a road accident around Kuwadwa at 3 AM on 3 March.
