Rajkot Fire News: The Atlantis Building suffered a navicular fire on the fifth and sixth floors, located on the busy Rajkot 150-foot ring road. An event, which took place in Rajkot city, has left the inhabitants in shock and mourning. The unfortunate tragedy claimed three lives, while the rescue operations saved dozens. The fire brigade, police, and emergency services responded very soon today, but the cause of the fire remains unknown.

The fire housed an apartment on the sixth floor of Block D of the Atlantis Building. Then smoke and flames raged upstairs, causing pandemonium at the place. Eyewitnesses creamed at the stampede of those trying to escape outside. Fire fighters reached immediately and deployed hydraulic lifts to carry the trapped ones from upper floors.
Even though the response was within a few minutes, three persons couldn’t make it due to the fire. One of them died in a nearby hospital during a post-mortem, while two are said to have been severely injured. Roughly 60 rescued persons were also evacuated from the structure to safety.
Rescue operations underway for trapped people
Police and firefighters worked part-time on the control of the situation. BJP leader Bharat Boghra, who was present at the scene, said: “We are currently focused on rescue operations to evacuate the injured to Rajkot Civil Hospital for treatment. The fire is now under control and we are thoroughly checking each floor so that no one is left behind.”
An advanced hydraulic lift had been used in the operations. Meanwhile, ambulances had also been stationed there to provide medical assistance to those affected.
The Fire’s Cause Still Unknown
As of now, not known is the exact cause of the fire. The concerned public has been assured that an elaborate investigation will be done into the cause of the fire once the fire is completely extinguished. A tandem of the fire department and the police will look into the premises to know what sources cause the unfortunate incident.
