The Rajasthan government is making a huge leap towards encouraging electric vehicles through the EV subsidy portal. If you are a Rajasthan resident and planning to purchase an EV car, bike or auto, then this news is highly relevant to you. Government has established a new web portal in association with National Informatics Center (NIC), on which a comprehensive list of vehicle manufacturers and dealers will be provided. With this you can apply for subsidy easily.
As per a senior government official, this portal is nearly ready and is in the final stage of testing. Registration of OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) has already started, and the process of application from the general public will start next month.
Who will be benefitted by the subsidy?
The Rajasthan government had established an e-vehicle promotion fund of Rs 200 crore in February this year under the Electric Vehicle Policy. Under this scheme:
- Refund of state GST
- One-time grant on electric vehicles with advanced battery
- Applicable on registered vehicles bought after September 1, 2022
- How much subsidy will be available?
- The government has set various subsidy amounts for various vehicles:
Two-wheelers:
- Fixed battery: Rs 5,000 – Rs 10,000
- Swappable battery: Rs 2,000 – Rs 5,000
Three-wheelers:
- Fixed battery: Rs 10,000 – Rs 20,000
- Swappable battery: Rs 4,000 – Rs 10,000
Retrofit kit:
15% of the kit price (max Rs 10,000)
Four-wheelers (Rs 20 lakh and below):
- Rs 30,000 – Rs 50,000
- Retrofit kit: 15% of the kit price (up to Rs 15,000)
