Maharashtra Minister for Women and Child Development Aditi Tatkare stressed that the scheme aims to empower women by making them financially secure. The timely credit is in accordance with the observation of International Women’s Day, reflecting the commitment of the government towards empowering women.

Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is the flagship scheme of the Maharashtra government for women aged 21-65 years. Under the scheme, a financial support of Rs 1,500 per month is given to empower women towards economic independence and social security.
