Milk Price Hike: Now drinking milk will be expensive! Increase of Rs 4; Government takes new decision

Karnataka government has announced even sharper escalations in the prices of milk, further bleeding any-which-way on family budgets. From April 1 onwards, consumers will now need to spend ₹4 more for one liter, making milk and products an additional burden on an economy reeling from inflation.

Why Are Milk Prices Rising?

The increase was confirmed by state minister K. N. Ranjana and was based on long-standing demands from dairy farmers and KMF (Karnataka Milk Federation). The demand from the dairy sector for an increase of ₹5 per liter was reduced to ₹4 by the government.

Not much before, once again, in June 2024, a price increase was through for Nandini milk. The resultant increase will substantially add more pain to the family’s buying limits.

How Much More Will You Pay?

Here’s a breakdown of the revised prices:

Nandini Milk (1L)₹44₹48₹4
Nandini Curd (1kg)₹58₹62₹4

Will Dairy Farmers Enjoy Legacy as a Win?

The Minister assured that the price revision would trickle down directly to the milk producers, who would now get proper remittance for their hard labor. Consumers-middle and poor-income families, into the bargain-will feel the impact.

Nandini’s Expansion Outside KarnatakaNandini Milk is going to come into Haryana soon after having completed its successful expansion into Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Delhi. This development not only increases brand visibility but also raises the question as to whether the supply will be able to match the rising demand.
